About Us

A fishing lake with 20 years history on the Norfolk and Suffolk border

Humble beginnings – From eel lake to fully fledged carp fishery

Our founder Rob took ownership and developed the lake in 1990 with the intention of fattening eels, however seeing the gradual development of the lake and the clear potential as a perfect location for carp fishing and cat fishing, the site was developed in to a fully fledged fishing lake, opening to customers in 1997.
Friendly and approachable community
At Cross Drove Fishery, we welcome anglers of all experience levels, including beginners. Although we don’t offer tuition, both our staff and community are friendly and approachable and happy to offer advice and guidance.
Local and accessible to all
Although we don’t have an onsite shop, there is a plethora of nearby tackle and bait shops to equip yourself with everything that you will need for your day with us. To name a few: Shipshape Angling (King’s Lynn), Hooked (Newmarket), Tackle Up (Bury St Edmonds), Kev’s Tackle (Swaffham), Downham Angling Centre (Downham).

As well offering rural escapism, we do understand that some commodities just can’t be lived without, so we are pleased to offer clean toilets on site, both male & female.
Fishing with impressive wildlife
Kingfishers, nightingales, deer, badgers
Since it’s inception, our extensive fishing lake has developed and flourished both in its challenge for anglers, but also as a natural habitat for wildlife. Cross Drove Fishery is home to thousands of animals, birds and insects, including kingfishers, nightingales, badgers and deer. See what you can spot on your next visit and send your pictures to us.
